On behalf of Croatia House, we welcome you to our website and organisation. Croatia House was established following the success of a number of cultural events held in and around Sydney by former Croatian Consul General, Hrvoje Petrusic. Croatia House was formally established in 2018 to continue the promotion of Croatian culture and the use of Croatian language through visual and performing arts.
In 2019 we proudly delivered the inaugural Croatian Film Festival in NSW at the Ritz Cinema in Randwick, showcasing three contemporary Croatian films, which was extremely well supported by a diverse audience.
Our organisation relies on bringing people together to participate and enjoy the Arts. However, the emergence of COVID-19 in early 2020 presented challenges to our event planning resulting in reducing our program for the year to a single event. We were delighted to be able to deliver the Croatian Film Festival in 2020 despite the challenges of the pandemic.
Our sponsors are particularly important to us. In 2019-20 we received support from the Croatian Government’s Ministry of Croats Abroad, large corporations such as Podravka, and many small businesses and individuals based in New South Wales. We thank each of them for without their support, our organisation would not achieve our objectives.
And finally, if it wasn’t for the work of the Croatia House committee, achieving our purpose would not be possible. The committee is small group of individuals who work entirely on a voluntary basis and believes the success of our organisation comes from delivering extraordinary and unique events, which bring people together. I’d like to thank them for the all the work they do and effort they put into the success of the organisation.
